Hey it's getting chilly! Cool nights, but gorgeous sunny fall days.
I got some lettuce transplants in (romaine). They're sharing space with the rosemary plants for now. The lettuce will be picked by the time the rosemary is big and bushy.
The jalapenos are nicely sized, flavorful and spicy. I ended making some excellent fermented green jalapeno hot sauce with some of them. Salt + garlic + water + jalapenos all blended up smooth and then fermented for a week or two = tasty. Once they turn red we'll do some roasting (chipotles) and try the sauce again. Unfortunately this year I've got tiny snails climbing up the pepper plants and hiding under the leaves. They're chewing some of the peppers too, but they work pretty slow so if I find them in time, no damage is done.
So long cukes. It's been great.
We got a 2nd picking of lavender flowers.
Sungolds are producing like mad. Hey, no tomatoes for you yet!
And we're making some excellent rosemary bunches.
